About the Petzl Ascender
The Petzl Ascender is a handled rope clamp designed for ascending ropes and is only compatible with rope sizes 8 to 13 mm. It features double molding and an ergonomic handle for a more powerful, comfortable grip when pulling.
The opening is wide enough to grab the handle while wearing thick gloves easily. The two holes at the top and bottom are for connecting carabiners. The wider, lower hole allows the carabiners of the lanyard and foot loop to easily be attached, while the upper hole is for clipping a carabiner around the rope.
There is also a safety catch fused into the body of the ascender to help prevent snagging, and a toothed cam with a self-cleaning slot enhances performance under any weathered conditions or dirty ropes.
This ascender is available in left-handed OR right-handed.
